Ping, Callaway have new drivers on USGA Conforming list.

Ping has added a new version of their popular G400 series, called the G400 Max.  While we don’t know all the details, we can assume it is larger then it’s smaller sibling and is most likely 460cc.  Due to the timing of the release, it is quite possible one or more of them will be put into play this week at the Sony Open. Ping trademarked the name G400Max back in October, so this club appearing on the conforming list was exactly a surprise.  Also, expect to start seeing more info leak regarding Ping’s next iron release, under the G700 name that is supposed to be replacing the GMax series.G400Max

Callaway Golf also had a new driver pop up on the USGA Conforming list. The Rogue *Star* was added.  We can assume, based off of the Epic *Star* version, that it will be lighter, more draw biased and also be initially aimed at the Asian market. Note, just like the Epic version, the Rogue *Star* doesn’t have an adjustable hosel, saving several valuable grams.
